El devenir accidentado de esta bicentenaria institución, que ha pasado por guerras y siniestros, hace compleja la reconstrucción de su recorrido, por lo que el ex libris se muestra como un medio para ahondar en el conocimiento del desarrollo histórico de la institución. Para conocer el aporte de este tipo de marcas, resulta necesario dar una aproximación a su estudio, su aspecto conceptual, los significados que se le pueden atribuir y el coleccionismo generado alrededor de sí mismo, ámbitos poco cono- cidos en nuestra bibliografía nacional. Con ello, nos aproximaremos a la historia de la Bi- blioteca Nacional, por medio de la exposición de los ex libris contenidos en sus colecciones. Abstract The objective of this study is to provide a first approach to the history of the National Li- brary through the Bookplate. The eventful evolution of this bicentennial institution, which has gone through wars and accidents, makes the reconstruction of its route complex, so the Bookplate is shown as a means to deepen the knowledge of the historical development of the institution. To know the contribution of this type of brand, it is necessary to give an approximation to its study, its conceptual aspect, the meanings that can be attributed to it and the collectionism generated around itself, areas little known in our national bibliogra- phy. With this, we will get closer to the history of the National Library, through the exhibi- tion of Bookplate contained in its collections.
